| In 1969, the Associazione Musicale Romana (AMR) founded “Amici dell’organo”, with its annual Bollettino. The originators of this initiative were Annamaria Romagnoli (AMR President), Wijnand van de Pol (Editor of the periodical), and the late Gianfranco Di Chiara (Secretary). This initial series saw three issues (1969-71), of a mainly didactic-informative nature on the two themes to which AMR was committed: the restoration of antique organs and the construction of new tracker-action instruments. Unlike today, at that time in Rome both themes were totally neglected. In 1982, Annamaria Romagnoli decided to launch a second series of the same publication, this time however focusing on historical documentation of Roman production in the organ-making sector. Of this second series, with Patrizio Barbieri as editor, a total of five issues were published (1982-86). Like the former, they were distributed to patrons of the “Festival Internazionale d’Organo”, which, since 1968, AMR was organizing every September in Roman churches. Owing to the considerable concentration of historical information contained in these issues, it has been decided to publish them in full on-line in facsimile (page-numbering included), also providing a name-, organ-, and subject-index. Excluding the indices, the five issues will form a monograph of 154 pages, numbered progressively. |
